Coaching points
- Locker: you never rotate. Stay ball-side of the crease man on every pass and take the feed away.
- Four poles on five: on every pass the man beside the catch becomes Ball, the old Ball stays beside it, the old back man takes the other side, and the last man splits the two farthest. Call Ball and Split out loud every pass.
- Lax Goalie Rat calls the two beside the ball Left and Right. If your team uses those calls, make them from the goalie's view, the way he yells them.
- Who you lock is your call: the crease man (shown), the man at X, or their best shooter by number. If the man you lock walks to X, it is five on four everywhere else.
- Lax Goalie Rat, LaxLibrary and Lacrosse For Dummies call this a box-and-one (the crease-locker kind). Belgium's box-and-one is the string, a different defense.
