Face-Off — Clamp
The clamp — win it under the head and push it out; wings crash for the ground ball.
Install notes
Alignment at a face-off is fixed by rule, so this diagram, the Rake and the Jump are identical on the field — the difference is the FOGO's move and the wing rule, which is why it lives in the install notes rather than the coordinates. Clamp: trap the ball under the head on the whistle and push or pop it to space. Wings start on the wing lines 20 yards from center and crash for the ground ball on the whistle. The three attackmen must stay behind the offensive restraining line until possession. The goalie and three close defensemen are in the defensive half and are not shown on this half-field view. NFHS boys' rules for 2026 include a face-off delay-of-game provision — check the roster's ruleset before teaching a slow setup.
