Coaching points
- The face-off man has it and comes down the goalie's top-left. Attack, read him: set the L on the side away from him the moment possession is called.
- Their wings are sprinting to the hole, so you get a couple of quick passes at most. Run Around the Box fast and shoot when your man is late.
- Their face-off man gets up and chases you from behind, looking for one chop at your stick (South Lacrosse; the Loyola chop drill). Keep running and move it when the top man comes.
- Your short-stick wing trails the play up top: not everybody runs into the middle (LaxLibrary). Your pole wing stays back at midfield; that is our choice, because the sources do not place him.
- Expect their close defense to agree who has point before the whistle and drop into the triangle on the win (Lax Goalie Rat). LaxLibrary drills it by running face-offs into 4v3s at both ends.
- His natural pull is to his own left, the goalie's top-right; from there this is the reverse (lefty) 4v3, a different play. Don't sub until it is over.
