Coaching points
- Get the middie behind GLE fast, so they cannot switch a pole onto him. Then dodge the short stick like an attackman.
- Know where the slide comes from before you go. Split or bull dodge, get to the 5-and-5, and run away from the slide to free your hands.
- Some defenses slide from across the crease (the coma) instead: then the backside pipe is your dump.
- Getting him there: carry it down the side and behind the cage (fast), or run behind and work the ball to him (harder to jump, but V-cut to get open) (Striebel).
- The cost: on a turnover your attackmen have to defend, it hurts your ride (Cottle), and you are open to a fast break.
