Coaching points
- Match feet and follow your man: deny him the ball, and never slide to the ball (USA Lacrosse). The one exception: the attackman on the goalie goes to the ball, because the goalie is the man we leave free.
- Get as deep as the deepest: nobody gets behind you, closer to our goal.
- Belgium's version: our defensemen lock their attackmen, our middies lock their middies, two attackmen pressure the goalie and the ball, and the third locks the defender near the restraining line.
- A man ride leaves someone free, usually their goalie or a weak defenseman (Wikipedia). Pressure him when he has it.
