Diamond (MDD)
A diamond — point, two wings, one behind — with a fifth man owning the crease; built to take the inside away.

The point man pressures the top of the umbrella, the two wings cover the alleys, the back man handles X, and the fifth man lives on the crease and never leaves it. Better than the box against an EMO that attacks from behind the cage, because the diamond has a body at X instead of an empty corner. Weakness is the wings — a skip from wing to wing across the top gets a shot if the diamond does not turn fast. Everything is a slide-and-recover; nobody chases below the goal line. Drawn against the same six-man umbrella as the other three man-down entries, and the comparison is the argument for this shape: the box leaves the corner behind the cage empty, the diamond has its Back man standing in it.
