Open Set (Empty Crease)
Nobody on the crease — three up, three behind, and the whole middle of the field left empty for a dodge.
Install notes
The counter to a defence that slides early from the crease: if there is no crease man, there is no crease slide, and the first slide has to come from somewhere longer. Three up top and three behind, with the middle deliberately vacant. Everything is a 1v1 into open space, and the backside is a skip pass away rather than a feed. Two install rules a coach has to hold: nobody drifts into the crease looking for a feed — the moment someone does, the defence has its slide back — and the off-ball players stay HIGH and WIDE so the skip lane stays open. Best against a team that has shown you an aggressive crease slide, and worst against a disciplined matchup defence that is happy to play six 1v1s.
