Coaching points
- An advanced read. Push down the side. If their low man on your side leaves early, cheating across before you pass, dump it down your side to the low man for a finish at the near pipe (Lacrosse Unlimited).
- Beginners: don't throw down the side you are running along (CoachTube). Teach Around the Box first, then add this read.
- Low man, step in toward the cage as he passes, so you catch it with an angle, and finish before your man gets back.
- Their answer: the low man on your side never leaves you before the pass (our reading of their timing). Zimmerman and England slide him when the ball is thrown; teams that start him on Rotate (Lax Goalie Rat) keep him splitting the two low men, not leaving yours.
