Coaching points
- Every pass that beats a slide takes one defender out: 4v3, then 3v2, then 2v1, then you alone with the goalie. Teach it as a chain of 2-on-1 reads, not a pattern to memorise.
- When your defender slides away, don't plant your feet. Follow him toward the ball while you call for it; it drags the next rotation up and opens room behind it (Nick Pietras).
- The low man at GLE moves up with his sliding defender, so he catches it with a real angle instead of taking a low-angle contested shot.
- Lacrosse Unlimited's ideal 4v3 ends the same way, one on one with the goalie. LaxLibrary says it too: teach players how to play, not plays.
How it was checked
A standard play the sources back, but a step or detail of it rests on a single source or on our own reading of them. Verified in part · checked against Nick Pietras (LaxAllStars) and Lacrosse Unlimited, with LaxLibrary.
