Coaching points
- Clamp first: roll your wrists so the back of your head is on the ball before his. Push down with your right hand and drive your left hand forward, aiming at the throat of his stick head, then pop it forward and run through it.
- Move it within one step (both levels). Pinch it and flip it straight into your pocket: legal. Pinch it and run with it: withholding (NCAA).
- Every face-off is right hand at the throat with your body left of the ball, so your clean way out is to your left (Bill Tierney, Princeton).
- Their wings and face-off man are behind you, so it is 4v3 until they get back. Attack right away. The attack reads which side you come down and sets the L opposite you.
