Coaching points
- Lost the clamp? Don't fight it. Get on your feet and go after him (South Lacrosse).
- Sprint to the chase position, right behind him. Loyola's drill gives you one chop, so make it count: a controlled check at the plastic of his stick head, never his hands, body or helmet (Steve Vaikness). One-handed checks are a penalty at 10U and below (USA Lacrosse).
- If it comes loose it is a ground ball: ball first.
- If a wing can get in front of him before the box, he calls Ball and we stay matched up (LaxLibrary). Nobody can here, so the close D drops to the triangle (Lax Goalie Rat) and the far wing gets to the hole. You chase from behind.
