Coaching points
- No clean clamp: wings hold 5 to 8 yards off the center X with your man behind you, ready for the squirt.
- Ball, you, man. Keep him on your back and the first clean scoop is ours. In high school, wings can't body-check the face-off men while they're still battling.
- Don't send three of ours to one ball. Keep your spacing (Brooks Matthews, Gilman).
- Losing face-offs to a better man? Make it a messy 3-on-3 ground ball on purpose (LaxLibrary).
