Coaching points
- A zone, not a rotation. In the rotation, D3 goes behind the cage to X on the catch. Here he waits low on his side, and comes out to stop the man at X when he comes to him.
- Timberlane's words: "D3 comes out to stop A1. D5 and D4 drop in to split A3, M3 and M2. D1 slides up to split M1 and M2." A1 is the man at X, M1 the left wing, M2 and M3 the two up top, A3 the right wing.
- D2 never moves: he stays topside of the crease man.
- From the Timberlane and East Roanoke playbook. Compare its Man-Down Rotation, from the same start.
