Coaching points
- Five on four inside the 12: four on the corners of a box, one in the middle. Hold the shape, no more than two steps, and let the ball do the work.
- Move it around the box until the defense shifts late and leaves the middle open, then feed her. At first only the middle may shoot.
- On defense the one who is 'two' leaves the attacker farthest from the ball. Every pass changes who that is, which is what the offense is hunting.
- This is the 5v4 you get on a break, or the inside of a man-up once it is played as a drill. A real settled man-up is 7 v 6. From Boston University's 5 on the Dice (IWLCA drill book), a man-up drill inside the 12, and Brockport's Steve Wagner, who runs the same dice in transition.
