Coaching points
- Force the carrier to the sideline by overplaying the inside. The doubler comes from behind, where the carrier can't see her, and calls "I'm coming, get ready to turn her, step up, step up!"
- The on-ball rider steps across the carrier's path to turn her back into the double. Pinch, call "Stick" or "Body", and make a controlled check.
- Out of the double, the rider who is now farthest from the ball releases and the ball-side rider holds.
- Trap before the restraining line. Backside doubling in the midfield is possible but very difficult. Boston University's cue: "Keep her sideline, double, double, turn her to me."
